:)
Holidays's been really fun. I haven't found the right moment to blog it all down. But this'll be a short entry.
I've been snaping pictures, blading, eating and all the fun you can ever think off.
And yes, trying to solve some matters of the heart. :)
Someone tugged my heartstrings way too hard already. No point trying to tug it too. :) I like you as a friend! :):):):) *baobao*
Love,
Viv.

Taitai's life, yet again..Gone are the whirlwind of hectic schedule. And now, it's holidays! I better relax and relish all I can before the 16th April 2007. haha. Yes, I also need to accomplish the list of things I need to do this holiday. And, signing up for Basic Theory Test is one of the many I have in mind.
Let me fill you in about what I've been up to lately.
Just two days ago, Alene, Catherine and I hanged out together. It was rather impromptu. We're discussing where to go in bed via the phone that morning. haha. I suggested DIM SUM HIGH-TEA BUFFET!!! I love Dim Sum! I think I said that to everything I eat. Okay, I love food! How's that? hehe.
I printed those vouchers with my newly-bought all-in-one HP printer. Because of the 'retarded' printer, I was late. I was telling them that we must bring out our innermost 'kiasuism' out when it's buffet time. Be first in line and 'chiong' to the seats once it's 3pm! haha. No worries, we didn't do that. hehe.
The push carts waitress would push the carts over to our table, blabber to us what they have in a speed light and most of the time, I couldn't catch what they're saying. They'll then end it with, "yao bu yao?" and I'd say, "yao yao yao!" hahaha.

I regretted not eating slowly, appreciate each little delights, sip my tie guan yin tea slowly and enjoy the beauty of those oriental pieces in the restaurant. But oh well, we'll be going again before school starts! wheeeee! I think it's really worth it to pay 15 dollars (with the voucher available online) to eat all these yummies! Maybe I should do short write up about my favourite dim sums next time, yea? hehe. Sound fun, huh?

After bursting our buttons, we went around to enjoy and soak in the traditional-yet-modernised-Chinatown. I've always been complaining how the authentic flavour of Singapore has disappear under the new bricks and fresh paints. The Chinatown, I once knew when I was a little girl, was gone. I appreciate how the goverment tries to conserve those traditional architectures. But seriously, it doesn't feel the same as before. So did they really conserve what is really essential? Is the change really good?
Never mind about that right now. hehe. We strolled, window shop around and stumbled to some really quirky stuff. Like those preserve creatures into those thick glass bottles. Yikes! I saw rats, lizards, snakes and all the eeeeeeeeeee stuff you can ever think of. We even spot this piece of vertebrae hanged on the wall above the glass bottles. It looks like the first vetebrae C1! I'm seriously wondering if it belongs to a human or not. Umm, probably it belongs to some animal huh?
Apart from that, we also got our eyes set on some really pretty clothings. Okay, it's not those obiang aunty-fashion sort. It's trendy clothes. Some are overpriced and others are alright. I even spot a pretty bubble dress for 10 dollars! I was tempted to buy it but I didn't. yay! Maybe, next time. hehe.
As we were walking, I spotted some nice buildings opposite the Indian temple. And we just crossed over and enjoy snapping those buildings. We didn't have a destination then. Just walk and walk.

I love those pretty coloured walls all over that area. It makes you feel like posing some emo kid and get someone to snap it down. hehe. And that's what we did. We had a WALL of a time there! It was funny how these two girls abide to my command! Very spontaneous, indeed. I felt like peeing badly then! I was roaring in laughter with the silly actions we're posing for. Especially how Catherine pose with her wholesome fatty butt sticking out! hahahahaha. And yes, how she sickeningly interupted my emo pose by jumping into the picture when Alene's about to snap! Alene got it too. haha. Alene's the good girl. hehe.

This is another wall we got hilariously silly. hehe.

While we were snapping ourselves silly, Catherine spotted her favourite tower.. Capital Tower. haha. Apparently, ever since attachment, she always spotted the building with the changing colour neon lights right above. So after snapping those picture by the yellow wall, we followed the direction of the building and headed there. We went all the way to the last level which is the 52th storey. Sadly, we can't enter because it's a China Club. And we will need to be members of the club to enter. Oh well, we just enjoyed the night view from the 36th storey. The city lights were beautiful. Beautiful enough to blew Cat off the window.. hahahahaha. Okay, that's not funny.

Got down to Clarke Quay after enjoying the night view from the high above. We had a great time by the fountain! Snapping and snapping! Posing and posing! hehe. FUN FUN FUN!
More pictures ahead. Try to intepret what we're trying to express from each picture. Have fun! :) Next stop for more snapping pictures.. is.. BOTANICAL GARDEN! hehe. Haven't been there for a long time! It'll be a picnic cum photography time! hehe.

Hallelujah!Good morning one and all! Early this morning at around 5am, I was awoken by Catherine's sms! haha. She said that results was out! And I didn't realise but at around 3am, my school sent us our results via sms.
Before the exams, I thank God for whatever I have. Even though it's not what I wish to score. But oh well, I'm happy that I've improved quite a bit and scored a lot better than before. God has always been there for me when I studied or when I don't feel like studying. He's been guiding me through my semester! Thank you! :)
I'm cheeeeeesssseeeeebun happy now! :) I'll continue to press on, persevere and give my best!
I shall go enjoy my bee hoon and head to my 4th last day in the ward! wheeeeee.. haha. And we've case study presentation today!

What've I been up to?!?Hello hello! :) WHAO! I finally find the time to sort out the pictures and post it up here! So let me yak and yak about what I've been up to as I flash these pictures to you. I promise you.. this is an image-heavy entry! I'll go chronologically so you won't miss any bit! I think. haha. So rub your granny eyes a little and BUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELTS! It'll be a whirlwind!
I was playing around with some trial programme on my laptop loooooonnnggg looonnnnggg ago. It allows me to doll my pictures up and put those fancy letterings on my pictures. So you'll get to see some such pictures in the entry. I didn't get to doll the other pictures up for fun because the trial ended. :( Oh well, just enjoy what we have.
ETWG @ Macritchie
Li Jie and I headed down to Macritchie like a long long time ago. I can't even remember when. But I do remember that we had a lovely time just chatting and spending extended time with God. It's nice to be embraced by the lush greenery as you recollect some thoughts. And talking to God! :) I look rather haggard in the picture because I think it was a hectic period for me in school. haha. Li jie, if you're reading this, LET'S GO AGAIN! :)
Japer's birthday & MOS
Crashed Japer's birthday sometime last year. haha. Can't recall when was is exactly. As usual, I get to catch up with a couple of funky secondary school pals. Eat and eat! That's what we all do during birthday celebrations isn't it? And what more when those really funny aunties stuff your with more food when you haven't even empty your plate. :) I guess we should all catch up again. This time, we should have more people! And that means, MORE FUN! wheeeeeee..
I also check out MOS sometime last year too. Calvin had some free passes. I was contemplating whether to go or not since I said yes to Calvin and it wasn't nice to 'pang seh'. haha. In anyway, I went. I went with the mentality just to 'see see'. And yes, the good girl here went in early at say 9pm and returned home early at about 11pm (Gasp! haha). This is sound very absurd to most party goers.. I wore a long sleeve top (the one Chunshu gave me) and jeans. Not much skin shown alright?! I just feel uncomfortable after hearing my friends telling me that there are people who just go partying to 'eat tou fu' or take advantage of girls. I think those kinda people totally spoil the fun!
That aside, I didn't really enjoy myself very much. I prefer nice chillout bars like Wala wala where you get funky music crooned to your ears and a light glass of wine. MOS was smoky and plenty of pushing around. I was like asking my friends if there's a non smoking area and they laughed. I mean seriously! We'll all die earlier if we stay any longer! Personally, I can't stand smokers. And I can get quite annoyed with people who inconsiderately smoke in a crowded area. Oh well, I guess I'll go clubbing only when I'm invited for some friends' birthday party or a big big gathering. haha. I'll wear my N95 MASK!!!!!
Okay, I got that Lonsdale cap already!!! It was on sales! hehe.
Hohoho! We had a Navteens' christmas rally. It was extremely fun! I got the chance to mingle with the so-called younger ones. Loads of new faces. Loads of fun! Everybody were talking about Navcamp that I missed! I didn't go Navcamp for two years already! Well, it was all beacuse of school. haha. I gotta know a couple of teens that are almost as crazy as me. haha.Almost everybody who went enjoyed the feast presented on the table. I can't really remember exactly what we had. But I sure do remember the two humongous turkey! Yum yum.. Well marinated wih herbs that seeped into the turkey inside out. And some hidden treasure like walnut and herbs in the thoracic part of the turkey! Drooling?
I really love Christmas. Christmas is all about love love love. The GREAT LOVE of God for mankind is way beyond comprehension. Thank you Jesus for coming to earth in such a humble manner. Jesus's like the Prince and God, and yet he came to us as a human. He reached down to a human level and interacted with us. And what more, He sacrificed his life for my life, your life, our lives. He sacrificed for our sins. Tell me, who will ever do that for us? Let me tell you.. That's the GREATEST LOVE OF ALL!
The PSM peeps and I went to catch the movie called Nativity in theatres sometime before Christmas. I think the movie depicts the birth of Jesus and that's what CHRISTmas is exactly about! Often, we're blinded by the the huge fat Santa Claus and cutesy Rudolf. But the real star and birthday boy is Jesus! When I sent those sms greetings, I reminded myself and my friends that CHRISTmas was about Christ! :)
I love to celebrate CHRISTmas with love. Because of Jesus, I understand the true meaning of love. And I believe we're giving gifts, exchange greetings and celebrating because we love our family and friends. And we're able to love because God first love us. :) Lovely, isn't it? I hope I'll remember this forever and ever. I don't wanna be blinded by Santa's cute ass. haha.

We had some Peranakan buffet during Christmas. Everywhere was packed to the brim. So we wandered around Bugis area and stumbled at this Peranakan restaurant. I was like telling my mum.. "let's eat this! I think it should be good because Jon Leong and the other Singapore Idols ate there before!" haha. I enjoyed talking and joking around with my parents. And yes, snapping pictures! The food was allllrrrrriiighhht. The Peranakan dishes were quite limited. It'll be better with those nonyan mee siam, chendol and more nonya kuehs. Nonetheless, we still enjoyed our mini feast. haha.
And we got down to town for a little photo snapping and enjoy the pretty decorations. I took many pictures for Lisa, my maid. So I can get it printed and she can then send it home! :) We got a bit to hyper at Raffles City and started jumping to get the wheeeeeeeeeee effect! hehe. My mum's so cute laaaaaaa. I asked her to jump with me but she refused and said she's like an elephant or something. haha.

The Wedding Bells!
Sometime in December, my beloved cousin Joya got married!!! hehe. She's the first to get married among my cousin! Wedding's such a sweet and lovely thing. A couple would have already established that sweet and strong love within their heart, gone through countless hurdles together and finally get married in holy matrimony. Awwwww! It just pulls your heartstrings a little doesn't it?
It was sad sad sad because I couldn't attend the wedding in Buckingham UK or the least, the wedding reception in India! Argh! It was school and projects again! haha. I taught my mum how to use my camera so I can, at least, celebrate while looking at those pictures. Both aunty christine and mummy went to India for the reception. The rest had other commitments so they can't go. Oh well, they'll be coming over around May! So I guess we'll throw them a mini party to celebrate their love! hehe. Can't wait!
Those two cutesy lao aunties has a rolling good time in India and came home with an Kolkatta accent. hahahaha. Okay, I made up the accent part. But they came home with loads of Indian delicacies.
Let me show you the excerpt from the email I sent to my cousin. Lazy to type it all out again. hehe.
My mum has been having this India craze in her ever since she returned. She would share all about the fun moments she had with all of you and all the quirky stuffs she see. Needless to say, she definitely miss India to the core! Thank you for feeding my mum so well such that she returned with a belly! haha. Interestingly, she's been making no attempts to try to loose the extra belly away. She's been trying to cook Indian cuisine lately. Just dhal alone, she tried countless time.. I tell you. haha. She even got me to ring up my Indian friend's mum to ask for the recipe. She kept saying that she misses Uncle Asim's dhal curry! There was even this period of time when my family almost had dhal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. haha. We do enjoy the dhal nonethless.
Oh yes, she's been trying out the masala tea she bought from India! And thanks to my adorable mummy, we have to be the guinea pigs or rather gourmet (as she would prefer to call us) and try her different versions of masala tea. Usually, she'll try making masala tea after dinner at around 10 plus at night. And that definitely caused us some difficulty falling asleep. haha. At one time, it even taste like sweetened milk! haha. Thank goodness, her masala tea has improved tremendously from her first attempt! We all love masala tea now! Even the masala tea from the Indian restaurant we frequent cannot be compared to my mum's! I think my mum can earn big bucks by opening a stall (right next to our frequent Indian restaurant) that just sells her masala tea. haha.

The market. Mummy said that their food are really really fresh. Nothing like what we have here!

The "happy married day" cake Aunty Chris and mum bought. hahaha.
Joya and her hubby, Paul. They studied medicine together, graduate together and are now doctors! Sweet, right?
And the wedding reception in Kolkatta.

Aunty Chris and Aunty Leelee (Joya and Rina's mum).
The lovebirds.
Mummy and Aunty Leelee.

Some really atypical thing we don't see in Singapore. Rather interesting right? They have people bathing or washing their dishes just right beside the road. Mummy told me that it feels like the really old Singapore when they still live in those straw houses. So old school!!! How I wish I can experience all these first hand! Alright, I hope I can attend Rina's wedding in future! hehe.

Glorious food! They totally stuffed themselves silly everyday. And ended the trip at this hotel with fantastic buffet. They have almost everything you ever wanna eat! And what more, it cost like.. 10+ SGD! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.. Can you spot the CHOCOLATE FONDUE?!?! It's flowing and flowing and flowing with HOT CHOCOLATE! Drooooooolllsssssssss!

The bride and the bridegroom! The lovebird during the Church wedding. Awwwwww..

Aunty Leelee and Joya. So radiant looking! hehe.

The whole family plus the additional member! hehe.
Attachment & Schooool!

Waking up in the wee morning, donning my angel-like uniform, having my hair similar to a bun, taking reports, communicate in lingo only understandable to healthcare workers, performing skills learned and caring for my patients made me feel that I’m a full-pledged nurse. But it’s just without the heavy responsibility load of a staff nurse. What a gratifying experience!
I'm glad that I was able to put my knowledge and skills into practice in this respiratory ward. :) Last semester, we learnt how to perform those skills like suctioning, giving oxygen therapy, dressing and etc.. So it was good that we had hands on those skills learnt.
There has been disheartening and heartening moments in the ward. There were times when patients were unappreciative and even succumb to beat the nurses up. And when the patient scolded that “they hate you” or “you are so mean”. And all you did was to provide care and love to help them recover as soon as possible. But it was not reciprocated at all. I remember Sister Mani shared about something one of the days after work. She said, “… at least we’re there when they are in pain…” I think that was a really short and encouraging sentence. It perked up my day especially when I had a patient who screamed at me all the discouraging words when all I did was to help her clean up her wound. Well, at least I was there to clean up her wound and when she was in pain. I guess I have to try to be a sponge. Absorb and squeeze out the hurtful comments from patients so it would not affect me too much. Seriously, even a harmless banana that’s on a patient’s hand can spoil your day!
It was not all that sad in the ward. There are also other patients who are sincerely appreciative of the care you showered on them. Straight after a hurt, I get a patient who pointed to me and said to her a daughter in Cantonese that this missy’s very good. Little things like that perks up my day and made me look forward to the rest of the day. The family was very appreciative till the point where they even bought drinks for us. It made our hearts all warmed up again. Just a simple thank you when you serve the bed pan was good enough to feel appreciated.
Indeed, words can hurt; words can heal. It worked just both ways for me. After a hurtful comment, I get one which healed. So it’s kind of balance up- yin and yang. Since it worked for me this way, I believe that it also works for everybody else. I want to heal my patients not just with the care I can provide. But with the words I use. It will help them look forward to the day of recovery when all seems doleful.
I guess it sums up my attachment in that ward. AND right now, at this point in time, I'm also having my 3rd clinical posting to an orthopedic surgical ward. Pretty interesting.. :) I've been praying everyday on my way to the ward that God will bless my day so that I'll be able to bless my patients. :) God's my strength! :):):)
Back to school after attachment!

Mad rush of projects to prepare for presentation. Like I said, it was really hectic then. It was school with projects and tests, attachment, school with projects projects and more projects, exams and now, attachment again. All these happened with no proper break in between at all! Sad huh? Oh well, those are some pictures we took for our bioscience presentation. Those round round stuff we had on our eyes looks utterly silly. I was the mastermind laaaaa. It represented Oxygen. My group mates were like.. "Vivvianne! I wanna kill you! It's so silly" haha. It was both fun and pain preparing for this! And oh ya, that's the coronal section of a human head. A couple of us met up and painstakingly painted that out. I was painting out of the line and that's all because I got butter fingers! haha. Ragi was the better painter among all of us! hehe. :)
Pirapong, my super last minute friend! haha.
Both of us agreed that the outing was boring. Nothing to talk about. Totally aimless. We were both tired then. The little fun came when we settled at Indochine with some emo ah peks singing and out little drinks. And yes, the silly poses that we snapped with my lousy camera phone. haha. :)

Fishing during New year's day!
Aunty Christine ringed us up on new year's day itself and asked if we wanna go fishing! haha. And so, we went. hehe. Mummy and papa even asked Lisa not to help out at the shop and head out with us instead! I hurried to charge my batteries so I can take the chance to snap some really pretty pretty pictures!
Wei Ling, me and Lisa! On our way to Changi Village!
Lisa and Wei Ling! Beautiful sky right? I was practically Lisa's personal photographer that day! Because she would like to have it developed and send it to her family! haha.
That's my cutesy Aunty Christine! hehe. I enjoy catching crabs using those nets instead of a fishing rod. The harvest was good! I not only got to catch crabs from the crab net, I got little fishes, starfishes, shellfishes and catfishes into my net! There was this time I caught a few catfishes consecutively from my crab net! It was fun! :)
That's my brother! hahaha.

Our catch!!! Notice the army looking tank shell fish on the bottom of the college? It looks like an army tank! Somebody around us caught it. And it was really interesting! Never did I see any creature that looks so army-ly cute! haha. What more, it moves like an army tank and have no sense of direction at all. haha.

The sunset I took at Changi Village..
It was little like a fishing cum photography trip there. When I was not snapping pictures, I was collecting my catch and throwing some baits. And when I was not collecting my catch, I was snapping pictures. hehe. I had fun! I would love to go for such little photography trip. I'm not very good at it but I just enjoy snapping those pictures. hehe.
Chinese New Year! wheeeeeee..
I love how Chinese New Year perks up the entire family. Everyone will get to see each other all over again.Visting, eating and catching up! On the sadder note, my Chinese New Year was spent mostly with my ang pao looking books! I was having exams before and after Chinese New Year! How awful is that?! Oh well, I managed to last minute chop chop and shop shop and bought myself a dress in a speedy before Chinese New Year! haha.
I made some dessert for CNY's eve. I was studying and cooking at the same time. My mum couldn't prepare because the shop was so busy with all the customers coming in to get their last minute CNY necessities. haha. The dessert was well praised by everyone okay?!?! So don't you dare tease me about my culinary skills yea? haha. The dessert soup had white fungus, lotus seed, lotus something, winter melon, gai zi and red dates. It's so good for the skin! haha. I think.
Visited my granny place first thing on the first day of Chinese New Year! :) I brought my notes to study there alright?! haha. I didn't eat much of the goodies because I was sick and am still sick right now. Horrible! haha. I think it's become a bad bad routine every year.. My cousins and the rest will be glued to the teevee and only the aunties would yakked about everything funny. hehe.
And instead of us going to the elders to give our greetings, the elders come and give us our angpaos. haha. I guess it'll be really great if we do it the traditional way. And that is, kneel before them, say our chinese dong dong chiang greetings with a cup of tradition red date tea and then HONG BAO YI GE LAI! That should be the way, isn't it?
When I visited Aunty Saumei's house, their new gold retriver, Kate jumped of everyone! She's absolutely adorable! And when it was Kate's turn to greet me, she pounced on me and bit the skirt part of my dress and dragged!!! Imagine that! THANK GOOODNESS, it was a dress! What happens if it's a skirt! Yikes, I don't wanna imagine. haha. Kate was a gift from Aunty Saumei's sons! Lovely huh? Too bad, my battery went dead after a few shots at Popo's house! Or else, I would have taken more pictures with the rest!!!! Argh!
On the second day of CNY, my family wanted to delight ourselves in some yummy dim sums! We wanted to settle it at Fortunate Restaurant but it was packed to the brim! So we went to Yum Cha at Chinatown and it was not opened! And walked to some Mouth Restaurant and had it there. The dim sum wasn't all that fantastic actually. The funny thing was that, when we settled down at Mouth Restaurant, my dad thought of that Red Star Dim Sum place. haha. Never mind, another time I guess. I went home to study after that while they head out to play!
Well, at least, I got to enjoy my Chinese New Year with my loved ones! hehe. No exams after Chinese New Year pleeeeeaaassseee! :)
Awesome fun day out with Patrick! :):):)
Patrick was back a few days before my exams and I didn't get to catch up with him until a few days before he left. haha. It was really lovely to see him again! :) We practically hanged out for the whole day! It was just FUN FUN FUN! :) I never really had so much fun for quite sometime because of the little crazy schedule I was 'suffering' from.
We caught two movies, Dreamgirls and Just follow law, consecutively. I listening to Beyonce's Listen right now. Fantastic song! I like the fact that it's a musical kind of movie. The characters even quarrel with the powerful vocals! I enjoyed how all the songs blended in with the stories of the individuals in Dreamgirls. And I like the scene where Beyonce belted out 'Listen' in simple yet charismatic manner. And how they summarised her story in the movie with the song. Brilliant. Well, my only complain is that it got a little draggy somewhere in the movie. But otherwise, I love it.
Just follow law was a classic yet hilarious piece of production. I love the way how you get to see packets of Singapore flavour all over the movie. And when you tear open each packet as you watch it, you'll see the reality and the humour about Singaporeans. It's almost like a mini mirrors reflecting the way we, Singaporeans, are. I had a really good laugh throughout the movie. My laughter was especially loudest when the aunty cracked that she had a blog too! The way she cracked it was totally hilarious. And what made it even funnier was that she spelled out the blog site.. laozharbor.blogspot.com! hahahahahahaha. And there were funny 'alternative' meaning to our daily abbreviations! haha.
I guess Patrick enjoyed Just follow law very much. That's for the fact that he hasn't been in Singapore for like.. 9 months?
After the movie at Vivo, we headed for dinner at this delectable chicken rice place at Novena. Okay, I'm craving for some chicken rice now. haha.
Later that, we headed to Bishan Park to blade. It feels nice to be on the wheels again. And I had to show my shifu some improvements I've made! I don't know if he thinks I've improved or not. But I know I have. haha. I fell ONLY ONCE! As compared to the other times (long time ago) when I fell countless times! :) We shared the blades because the stall was closed and he couldn't get a pair. hehe. He's still just as good as ever, with all the swiveling movements and backward moves. I definitely had a rolling good time blading again with him! Chatted quite a bit about his life there. Crapped a lot more about some silly 'stories' and games. And teased each other a whole lot more!
Our outings never end without a single photos taken! haha. I really enjoyed myself! Thank you Patrick! :)
I sent Patrick off to Brisbane! I was the only friend who turned up other than his parents. Justin came along because we were going to meet up with Chunshu for dinner after sending him off. I don't like to say goodbyes in the airport. It feels as if the person's flying off to somewhere really far and not going to return for a long time. At least, I got to see him off before he fly off. :) And I happy that he's going to pursue his studies for a brighter future.. and that's good! :)
Bye my dear sweet friend and brother! haha. Looking forward to your return! Miss ya! God bless! :)
Alrighty, that's all folks! hehe. That's definitely an eyeful of words and pictures huh? :) Oh well, you know me.. I'm lor soh! hahahaha. More pictures coming the bloggaye way soon! Because once attachment's over, I'm going to catch up with more darling ol' friends! haha. God bless ya! LOVE YA ALL!
